Blwyddyn 2

Croeso i Blwyddyn 2Welcome to Year 2

Summer Term 1

We hope you have all had a lovely Easter, despite some of the crazy weather we have had. I am hoping the Easter Bunny managed to get to you all.

This coming summer term we have lots planned including our new topic, Ready, Steady, Grow. We are really looking forward to getting started with lots of investigations planned. Including spending time outdoors and practising our growing skills.

Topic related homework, is available on J2E on Hwb. All activities are shared in Shared Files but each task is also shown in the Homework section of J2E. An queries accessing them please send me a message.

Please note all homework for the second part of Autumn term is due in by the 17th December. This is to give you flexibility to complete it when you can. Please submit them when they are done so we can celebrate the work in class by sharing it with everyone.

Spelling test are on a Friday. Spellling words will be posted on J2E every week. Please access them there. Any issues accessing this please let me know. Please note each child has a document on J2E where you can access their spelling results.

The children will bring a spelling practise book home, keep this at home, it does not need to return to school.

Reading

Reading books need to come in on Mondays and will be returned on Thursdays. This is to allow 72 hours between contact. We will listen to the children read individually as well as guided reading sessions too. We aim to listen to them read as often as possible.

It is really important that you help us by sending in their reading books on their reading day. Can we emphasise the importance of reading to and with your child as often as possible (at least 4 times a week).

PE Lessons

The children will have 1 PE session a week, on a Wednesday morning. Can you please can they come into school dressed for PE.

Water bottles

Please can each child have their own water bottle. We will not be having cups in class for them to use due to health and hygiene reasons.

Thank you for your support, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to discuss anything.
